Operation Rescue the Children (ORC) is a registered, non-profit, non-denominational, Christian organization committed to making an eternal impact in the lives and hearts of children living in impoverished and dangerous communities within the developing world through child sponsorship and community development programs.

The vision for Operation Rescue the Children (ORC) was birthed by a burden for the plight of abandoned street children. While on mission trips, ORC board members encountered small children in Latin America who were sleeping on cardboard, stealing what they could not get from begging, addicted to drugs, dirty and alone. Armed with the love of Christ, the dedicated team of ORC took to the streets of Honduras, with one goal: to feed these homeless children the moment they awoke.

This early feeding program soon grew into a rehabilitative initiative, enabling these children to receive counseling, vocational skills … and hope.

But it was still not enough. To help fight against the growing number of children living on the streets ORC began to provide critical support and ministry to families in marginal communities to help these children stay in their home environments. ORC became concerned not only for the children, but also for the families who had a lasting and profound impact on these same children.

To help facilitate this ministry in Honduras, a Board of Directors was formed, composed of local clergy, public officials and prominent business people. ORC raised up teams of U.S. based Christian volunteers and financial supporters to further God’s work taking place in Honduras.

Since its founding in March 2000 , ORC has transformed the lives of thousands of youngsters and their families through the love of Christ. We work alongside local Christian churches and organizations around the world, serving as the bridge between these little ones and U.S. based Christians who seek to nurture them.

Today, ORC has expanded its operations to other developing countries, where underprivileged children and families continue to cry out for help. Through child sponsorship, individual contributions, and partnerships with other ministries ORC is able to provide feeding centers, medical clinics, housing projects, education initiatives, and more, to girls and boys who are desperately in need.
